Queen Clarion, Myka and Lily in Full Bloom Review

Mood: Geeky
Title: Queen Clarion's Secret
Characters: Queen Clarion, Prilla, Lily, Beck, Terence, Fira and Bess
Rating: Three stars
Synopsis: Queen Clarion is missing! One minute Prilla was flying right behind her, then POOF!—the queen was gone. Meanwhile, someone has taken the precious heart seed from Lily’s rare Fairy Pink rose. Could the queen’s disappearance and the stolen heart seed be connected? With the help of Lily and Beck, Prilla follows clues that Queen Clarion has left behind. The trail leads them all the way to the mysterious High Tree Forest. Prilla knows the queen is somewhere in the vast, dark forest. But how will they ever find her?
Opinion: In case you can't tell I don't like Queen Clarion. I think she's an awful Queen. She shows lasyness and lack of good judgement. So I was actually kind of glad that she wasn't the actual center of the stroy. Instead a fairy I actually like, Prilla was the protagonist. She spies Queen Clarion strolling Lily's garden, see's her steal somthing form the garden and then disapears. Now it's up to Prilla, Lily and Beck to find where she's gone off too.
Despite my liking for Prilla and Lily this book gave me the blahs.
At least Queen Clarion wasn't a complete dumb-ass. She's getting better.
Worth it: Meh no not really

Title: Myka Finds Her Way
Characters- Myka, Bess, Trakk, Clera, Queen Clarion, Tinker Bell, Iris, Nettle, and Vidia
Rating: Four stars
Synopsis: Myka can spot an ant carrying a crumb in a faraway field. She can see an inchworm sliding along a twig in a distant wood. She’s a brave-hearted, sharpeyed fairy scout. Then one morning Myka thinks she spots something dangerous and sounds an alarm—a false alarm. Now Myka’s no longer so sure of herself. She’s starting to think something is wrong with her eyes, but she doesn’t want anyone to know. Can Myka count on her other senses to help her fool everyone?
Opinion: Well after a collapse of five not to great books we came across a winner. Myka Finds her Way brought the series back to it's former glory. Myka was a solid strong character. She isn't silly or airheaded, nor is she overly macho and tough. Myka is just Myka and that's what draw me to her. She suffers from pride, but who doesn't?
and it wasn't just Myka that made the series so good. All the fairies played a good part in making this book fantastic.
Trakk a scouting sparrow man was a good representation of an older fairy. He obviously was somene Myka wanted to impress, but in a big brother little sister kind of way. I like how he was suspicious of the eye-sight but wasn't pushing it on Myka, he let her discover it for herself. He was also concerned for her and wanted her to be taken care of...he seemed like a neat guy to have in a guild (He inspired Picket the scout in Lost Magic)
This was the first book that made me like and appreciate Iris. No longer was she naggy and boastful and critical, she was still thougtless but a little less annoying about it. And her knowledge saved the fairies from eating posionous flowers XD
Clera reminded me of Fairy Mary phyisically.
and Bess was Bess, which is a good thing
and finally Queen Clarion was a pretty good Queen this time around.
Worth it: It's one of the few must haves from this series

Title: Lily in Full Bloom
Characters: Lily, Iris, Aster,Fira, Bluebell, Rosetta, Fawn, Terence, Lympia, Fern, Scarlett, Azure, Dulcie, Takk, Taylor, Breeze and Queen Clarion
Rating: Four Stars
Opinion: Lily has always thought of herself as a garden-talent fairy first and foremost. But after Tink challenges the other talents to think up new ideas, Lily discovers she's pretty good at inventing things, too, like her new flowers, the panglories. They grow anywhere—in dirt, on wood, even on rocks! But then little gray spots pop up, first on the panglories, then on other flowers, until all the plants in Pixie Hollow start losing their colors. Can Lily invent a way out of this new fix?
Opinion: Again Lily pulls through for me. This was a fantastic book, not as good as her first, but not bad by a long shot. Lily faces another delimia when she gets caught up in a competition to invent (created by Tink though she's not to happy about it). She invents a new type of flower called a panglory. They grow everywhere! Everywhere!
But there rapid growth isn't the thing that's causing trouble. it's the fact that they start turning gray! and soon the other plants are turning gray too! And Lily feels it's all her fault.
Rosetta was once again restored to her proper status as a helpful witty fairy. In this book she's Lily's almost "mother-figure" she gets her food when she forgets to get some herself. Advises her on several occasions and defends her during the grey flower diaster.
Iris stayed in my good gracious this time too. She was actually very cute.
Tink was hillarious how she gets mad because the others getting defendy over there talents, because she boasts about how great her talent is. HA Tink you were asking for it!
Worth it: Oh yes
Well that wraps it up. Join me next time for a list of the best book to the worst book and everything in between. Then I'll rank fairies :D
